40 years of leadership
Since 1981, more than 750,000 implantable devices have been provided by Cochlear – the global leader in implantable hearing solutions.2
More people choose Cochlear than any other hearing implant manufacturer and our implants have been the most reliable over time.3,**
And the world’s first smart implant is also the world’s thinnest implant,3 designed to provide a more natural, discreet appearance for both adults and children.
Designed for better hearing
The anatomy of the inner ear (cochlea) varies from person to person. To provide the best possible hearing performance, the Nucleus Nexa Implant has a choice of electrodes that your surgeon can select to suit your specific needs.
The Nucleus Nexa Implant has:
- 22 active contacts for precise frequency coverage
- the world's thinnest full-length electrode4,~
- electrodes which sit closer to the hearing nerve for better hearing performance.5-7
MRI safety and compatibility
The Nucleus Nexa Implant is MRI safe, so you can have a routine 1.5 T MRI or high-definition 3 T MRI without removing the magnet.+ This means no delay in having your scan done and, most importantly, no unnecessary time without sound.

# The described feature and benefit are available for recipients with a Nucleus Nexa Implant only. Battery life varies for every user, according to the age of the battery, the programs used each day, your implant type, the thickness of skin covering your implant, and the size and type of battery used. Streaming from compatible devices, True Wireless devices or FM may decrease sound processor battery life depending on how often and for how long streaming is engaged.
